PCC was taken to new heights yesterday at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.  We had the opportunity to go on a tour of the Museum with our amazing, knowledgeable tour guide, Jeanelly. She took us through the history of aviation and space. We learned so many interesting facts. Did you know that the Roosevelt Field Mall was an airfield? Or that parts of the museum are on the airfields that are displayed in the museum? We were blown away by these facts and so many more!

PCC braved the frigid weather to participate in Bellmore-Merrick High School District's Transition Fair. We spent the evening making connections and spreading PCC's mission at Calhoun High School. Everyone we interacted with was so nice and enthusiastic about the idea of us working together in the future, or happy that places like PCC exist. We are looking forward to attending this fair next year.

bowling

PCC had some friendly bowling competition this week at Maple Lanes in Rockville Centre. Spares and strikes were made, and high scores were beaten. It was a great way to spend the afternoon with friends and get to know each other. It was a great way to start off meetups in the new year!

nerf mania meetup

It was a cold January night and the air was fridged, but our PCC members were heating up the arena at our Nerf Mania Meetup. We visited the NY Dart Zone in Holbrook for a crazy fun night of dart fun. Each member weilded a nerf gun with the aim to protect their teammates from a foam onslaught! Running, dogding, leaping and shooting, we were people of action! Nerf Mania was a BLAST!!!!

This holiday season our PCC Live-Wired crew got in the spirit of season by helping the Sachem library design and install their Winter Garden Lightshow! They fought with blowup animals, untangled hundreds of lights and hung a tunnel full of glowing icicles. What a wonderful way to give and enjoy the fun of the season with our friends and neighbors!

Oh, what a night!! PCC celebrated their 11th Annual Family Dinner Dance at the Stonebridge Country Club in Smithtown this month. It was quite the night of celebrating! We honored multiple individuals for their hard work and dedication in making a difference in the community, promoting and fighting for inclusion. We all came together to celebrate self-direction and everyone who makes PCC the organization it is today.

Our most recent Speed Friending event in Merrick was another HUGE success! Participants came to our event as strangers and left as friends. Everyone took their time asking each other questions about their likes, dislikes and overall interests. Individuals found out that they had a lot in common with one another. It was a fun night of friendship! We'd like to thank The REAL Transition Partners and PB Academy for giving us the means to be able to have Speed events.

Our PCC members visited the Suffolk County Farm for an afternoon of fall fun.  Members had the opportunity to feed goats, pick pumpkins and go on a wagon ride. At one point, we all worked as a team to get ourselves out of the corn maze.  When the beautiful sunset hit, we sat around a bonfire and made s'mores.  It was a fun-filled fall meetup!

Halloween may have recently passed, although the ghosts and creepy vibes were still going on at the Haunted House of Hamburgers. PCC members and some friends were there to witness some spooky scenery and some terrifyingly terrific eats at his cool restaurant. PCC had over thirty-five people dining together in this fun atmosphere, with werewolf howls and erie sounds happening as we chatted and gobbled down our yummy dishes.  What a fun and interesting place.

We think it's safe to say that one of PCC's favorite holidays is HALLOWEEN!  Our Halloween party at the Ronkonkoma Fire House was a creepy, spooky good time! Everyone came decked out in some of the best Halloween costumes to date.  Our member Anthony won our costume contest, dressing up as Barbie! Everyone's monster mashed the night away.  Party goers sure were Creepy and kooky and all together ooky!
